Surrey England is not only the home of British Blues, but a hot bed of British prog bands. Sour Orange are students from Nick Mason's old school in Farnham, Surrey, a stone's throw from Godamiing which produced Genesis. Sour Orange's music is mostly instrumental and has a unique sound of it's own. The Sour Orange guitarist/writer Kit Martin (15 at the time of recording) who was brought up with the Canterbury music of Soft Machine and Caravan while the other founder member Mune Sugiyama (16 at the time of recording) is a drummer and writer influenced by MIles and Herbie Hancock. Their music draws from elements of psychedelia, spirituality, jazz, rock, soul, funk, folk and African, Latin, Brazilian, Indian and Asian influences. Sour Orange's music is both expansive and highly rhythmic, and simultaneously finds connections with the mind, soul and body.
