Nots hails from the Goner Records enclave of Memphis, TN, all female post-punkers (with a no-wave tinge) that formed alongside the scene stalwarts Ex-Cult. The drums? Heavy but not heavy-handed. The vox? Booming and drastic. Acerbic yet memorable synth lines, implosive guitar, and, what is often the cornerstone of the genre, bass that is imaginative, thoughtful and indisputably cold.
