The theme was realised in 1962 for Dr. No, when Barry was brought in by the film's producers to give Norman's music an edgier feel. John Barry brought Vic Flick with him and the iconic surf-style guitar sound over Barry's brass arrangement resulted in the enduring classic theme still identified with the franchise today.
